Role Overview
As a Direct Sales Representative, you will be the frontline growth driver for a banking client, turning prospect conversations into new accounts, deposit growth, and suitable loan opportunities. You will spend your days prospecting, onboarding customers, cross-selling digital banking services, and keeping existing clients engaged so they remain loyal and active. This role matters because it directly expands the bank’s customer base while protecting service quality, compliance standards, and the client’s reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, referrals, networking, and consistent follow-up, building a steady sales pipeline.
- Open new customer accounts accurately and efficiently, ensuring each account meets quality and compliance expectations.
- Introduce and cross-sell digital banking products to new and existing customers, supporting them through adoption and active use.
- Drive deposit growth and facilitate quality loan disbursements for individual and business customers to meet assigned targets.
- Engage customers with clear information about available banking products and services, matching solutions to their needs.
- Strengthen customer retention by regularly keeping clients informed about the bank’s product portfolio, gathering feedback, and escalating service improvement opportunities to your supervisor.
- Prepare and share daily, weekly, and monthly sales activity and performance reports with your supervisor.
- Handle additional duties assigned by your line manager and stay current on industry rules and regulations affecting sales and customer interactions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field such as business administration, finance, marketing, economics, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience in sales, with evidence of working independently and delivering against targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging customers, colleagues, and partners.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to close sales while maintaining customer trust.
- Good networking and people management abilities, with a talent for building and maintaining relationships.
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially when assessing customer needs and product or loan suitability.
- Working knowledge of industry rules and regulations relevant to banking sales and customer onboarding.
- Results-driven and customer-focused, with the discipline to manage a healthy sales pipeline and report progress accurately.
