Role Overview
This role keeps a major telecommunications provider's retail network active and profitable by driving SIM sales and mobile money float turnover through direct field engagement. You will spend your days visiting SIM selling outlets and T-Kash agents, coaching them on transaction processes, and ensuring they have the correct stock, tools, and visibility materials to succeed. Your efforts directly support subscriber growth and agent revenue, making you essential to the company's channel strategy in the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and recruit new SIM selling outlets and mobile money agents, focusing on high-traffic retail stores and underserved locations to expand channel coverage.
- Follow agreed beat plans to visit outlets and agents consistently, maintaining high call rates and building strong working relationships at every stop.
- Train SSOs and T-Kash agents on transaction procedures, SIM registration, and the use of business tools so they can operate independently and accurately.
- Conduct anti-money laundering awareness sessions for agents and reinforce KYC requirements for SIM registration among SSOs.
- Monitor float balances and SIM inventory at outlets, enforcing the 1.5x stock rule and coordinating replenishment to prevent stockouts or lost sales.
- Keep merchandising standards high by supplying and positioning promotional materials at points of purchase, ensuring the brand is visible and attractive to customers.
- Document outlet performance and any operational challenges, reporting back to the Area Sales Manager to support continuous improvement.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- At least one year of sales and distribution experience, ideally within an FMCG or telecommunications environment.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to build trust and maintain long-term partnerships with retailers and agents.
- Proven influencing and negotiation skills to win commitment from independent outlet owners and drive adoption of company processes.
- Analytical thinking to assess outlet performance, spot market trends, and address stock or compliance issues quickly.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned area and work in dynamic retail settings, often independently.
