Role Overview
This is a leadership position for a boutique property where the hotel manager acts as the face and operational anchor of the entire guest journey. Day to day, you will move between greeting guests, supervising housekeeping and front desk workflows, coordinating food and beverage service, and reviewing financial performance — all while preserving the distinct character that sets this hotel apart from larger chains. Your ability to blend hands-on hospitality with commercial thinking directly shapes guest loyalty and the property's standing in the local market.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full guest journey from pre-arrival communication through check-in, stay, and farewell, ensuring each interaction feels personal and unhurried.
- Direct daily operations across front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage, stepping in yourself wherever coverage or quality demands it.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a compact team, instilling a service style that feels authentic rather than scripted.
- Manage budgets, monitor occupancy and revenue metrics, and make data-informed decisions to protect profitability without compromising experience quality.
- Safeguard the hotel's visual identity and service standards, ensuring design details, amenities, and guest touches stay consistent and intentional.
- Build and nurture relationships with nearby restaurants, tour operators, artisans, and cultural venues to craft local recommendations and exclusive guest experiences.
- Spot and pursue new revenue streams, from seasonal packages and private events to corporate partnerships, broadening the hotel's reach without diluting its boutique character.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven track record managing a boutique hotel, luxury property, or similarly high-touch hospitality environment — with genuine experience running day-to-day operations, not just overseeing from a distance.
- Strong leadership presence with the empathy and communication skills to motivate a small team and handle guest concerns gracefully under pressure.
- A natural eye for detail, from spotless room presentation to the timing of a welcome amenity or the tone of a follow-up email.
- Solid financial literacy, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and interpreting performance metrics for a small-scale operation.
- Creative problem-solving ability, comfortable designing distinctive guest experiences and adapting offerings to seasonal demands or local trends.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as a hands-on manager in an intimate property setting.
