Role Overview
You will be the field-facing expert for a range of intensive care medical technologies, working directly with Kenyan hospitals, nursing teams, and procurement departments. Your core mission is to pair deep clinical knowledge with persuasive communication: demonstrating ICU equipment, answering technical questions, and helping healthcare providers select dependable solutions that directly affect patient survival and recovery. This role sits at the intersection of medical science and commercial strategy, requiring you to move fluidly between the ICU floor and the boardroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities for ICU equipment and consumables across public, private, and faith-based healthcare institutions.
- Organise and deliver hands-on product demonstrations for critical care physicians, anaesthetists, and nursing staff, tailoring each session to their clinical workflows.
- Provide responsive technical support after the sale, troubleshooting equipment operation and coordinating service or maintenance with internal teams.
- Develop and maintain relationships with biomedical engineers, hospital administrators, and clinical champions who influence purchasing decisions.
- Manage a structured sales pipeline, using forecasting tools to report on monthly activity, tenders, and projected revenue.
- Support product evaluations and trial placements by collecting structured feedback from users and documenting outcomes.
- Stay current on critical care treatment protocols, competitor products, and hospital infrastructure trends in Kenya to position your portfolio accurately.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 4–6 years of proven medical equipment sales experience, with direct exposure to ICU, high-dependency, or critical care environments.
- A degree or diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Medical Laboratory Science, Pharmacy, or another relevant healthcare field.
- Working knowledge of intensive care equipment and consumables, including ventilators, patient monitors, infusion pumps, and airway or vascular access devices.
- Excellent verbal presentation skills, comfortable teaching clinicians how to operate technology in fast-paced, high-stakes settings.
- Strong negotiation and account management abilities, with demonstrable success in multi-stakeholder hospital sales cycles.
- Ability to work independently and travel extensively within Kenya, including to rural or remote health facilities.
