Job Description

Role Overview

This role drives the rollout, adoption, and long-term sustainability of digital health tools supporting community health services in Kenya. You will act as the technical bridge between Living Goods, the Ministry of Health, county governments, and technology partners, ensuring that new systems are not only deployed on time but also genuinely used, trusted, and continuously improved. Day-to-day work involves leading implementation planning, resolving delivery risks, validating system designs with government stakeholders, and turning field insights into practical upgrades that strengthen community health service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, testing, and iterative enhancement of community health digital platforms, working closely with government bodies, technology partners, and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Facilitate implementation planning sessions, technical working groups, and progress reviews to track commitments, surface challenges, and keep delivery on schedule.
  • Ensure system architectures, integrations, dashboards, reports, and workflows are formally reviewed and validated with national and county stakeholders before going live.
  • Coordinate deployment readiness activities, including infrastructure preparation, user training, technical support structures, and transition planning for ongoing system ownership.
  • Monitor project risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating them to the Ministry of Health, counties, and technology partners when needed and coordinating timely resolutions.
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly digital health progress reports for internal leadership and external partners, clearly communicating milestones, bottlenecks, and adoption metrics.
  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with national government officials, donors, implementing partners, and technology vendors to ensure alignment with Kenya's digital health policies, standards, and enterprise architecture.
  • Represent the organisation in national digital health technical working groups and external forums, contributing to shared learning and policy influence.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, health informatics, information systems, or a closely related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, ITIL, data analytics, or AI credentials.
  • At least 5–7 years of professional experience in digital health, health systems strengthening, ICT4D, or large-scale digital transformation programs.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years managing digital health or ICT implementation programs in collaboration with government stakeholders.
  • Proven experience deploying and operationally managing large-scale digital platforms serving frontline workers or public service delivery programs.
  • Direct experience working with national and county governments, development partners, donors, and implementing organisations in Kenya or similar contexts.
  • Solid understanding of digital health ecosystems, government decision-making structures, and software implementation lifecycles.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to negotiate, present, and influence across senior government and partner audiences.
  • Competence in data analysis, performance tracking, and using evidence to drive continuous improvement and change.
  • High integrity, adaptability, strategic thinking, and a demonstrated ability to build and motivate collaborative teams.
