Role Overview
This senior structural engineering role provides technical and administrative leadership for structural programmes in the public service. The postholder directs and monitors programme delivery, supervises professional and technical staff, and ensures work is carried out effectively. Strong performance in this position depends on sound engineering judgement, effective management, and a record of delivering results.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the planning and implementation of structural engineering programmes.
- Coordinate and oversee structural work to support programme objectives.
- Supervise professional and technical staff involved in programme delivery.
- Provide administrative direction and maintain control over programme activities.
- Monitor work progress and assess results against expected outcomes.
- Apply structural engineering expertise to guide technical work and decisions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least three years of service at Senior Engineer (Structural) level, or in a comparable and relevant public service position.
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
- Registration with the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya (ERB).
- A current, valid annual practising licence issued by the ERB.
- Corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK).
- Demonstrated administrative ability, including the capacity to direct and control structural programmes and supervise professional and technical staff.
- A record of merit and ability, evidenced by work performance and results.
