Role Overview
This role coordinates telecommunications feasibility studies and network implementations, guiding projects from initial requirements and solution design through site delivery, testing and handover. You will work with business teams, technical specialists and contractors to deliver practical customer solutions that meet agreed service levels, quality standards, schedules and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage regional implementation projects from feasibility assessment to completion and operational handover, tracking progress against delivery targets and escalating risks or delays.
- Assess customer and business requirements, conduct feasibility studies within agreed SLAs, and recommend workable, cost-conscious technical solutions.
- Coordinate contractors throughout surveys and installation work; arrange site supervision and inspections, monitor workmanship and timelines, and verify completed work before submitting invoices for approval.
- Contribute technical advice to tender decisions, customer RFQ responses and proof-of-concept activities, working with presales teams and solution architects to develop and approve designs.
- Coordinate proof-of-concept delivery on network infrastructure or customer links, and support innovation and technical issue resolution during trials.
- Manage implementation materials and buffer stock to support timely deployment, and maintain records of new radio, fibre, FTTG and FTTB customer connections in the assigned region.
- Prepare progress and performance reports, provide regular implementation updates, and recommend improvements based on survey and project outcomes.
- Complete customer activation and setup documentation, then hand over service information to the relevant business, helpdesk and network monitoring teams.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
- Three to four years of experience in a telecommunications company managing implementation projects of varying size.
- Experience coordinating contractors and suppliers, managing customer expectations, and delivering enterprise or wholesale telecommunications services.
- Practical knowledge of routing and switching, telecommunications network design and operations, and the products and network environment relevant to the role.
- Project management or networking certification such as PMP or CCNA is relevant. SD-WAN knowledge or experience is a strong advantage.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office, including for analysing project information and presenting findings.
- Strong planning, organisation, communication and customer engagement skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams and manage multiple deadlines.
- Analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability, a proactive approach under time pressure, and willingness to learn new technologies independently.
