Solutions Architect & Presales Engineer

Role Overview

You’ll act as the technical backbone of the sales and delivery cycle, turning customer pain points into robust telecommunications solutions that work in the real world. On any given day, you might be drafting a network architecture for a large enterprise bid, joining a customer call to explain how a solution meets their constraints, or stress-testing a design for capacity and resilience. Your work directly shapes whether the company wins tenders and whether those wins translate into smooth, profitable implementations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design complete end-to-end telecom solutions — from access and transport to core and edge — based on defined customer needs, network strategy, and business targets.
• Serve as the technical lead during customer engagements, translating ambiguous requirements into documented solution options, trade-offs, and recommended architectures.
• Produce the full suite of bid deliverables: technical response documents, compliance matrices, network diagrams, bill of materials (BoQ), and detailed specifications.
• Run technical clarification workshops, solution demonstrations, and site surveys to validate assumptions and refine proposals alongside sales and delivery teams.
• Perform capacity planning, feasibility studies, and network impact assessments to confirm that proposed solutions can be supported by existing infrastructure or justify required upgrades.
• Work with engineering and operations teams to ensure handover is realistic — flagging implementation risks, dependencies, and integration constraints early in the pre-sales phase.
• Contribute to network evolution planning by evaluating new technologies, creating standards for solution templates, and maintaining architecture reference documents.
• Support the project lifecycle after contract award by assisting with technical queries, testing, commissioning, and service acceptance as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

• At least seven years of hands-on experience in telecommunications, network engineering, or a presales/solutions architecture role with a strong technical foundation.
• Proven track record of designing and delivering network solutions for enterprise or corporate customers, including both connectivity and value-added services.
• Demonstrated experience supporting RFPs, RFQs, tenders, and technical proposals — including writing compelling but accurate response content and managing compliance tables.
• Solid understanding of network planning principles: routing, switching, IP addressing, transport technologies, security boundaries, and capacity management.
• Ability to create and interpret network diagrams, high-level designs, low-level designs, and technical specifications with attention to detail.
• Comfortable presenting to customers, leading technical discussions, and explaining complex trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborative mindset — you’ll regularly partner with sales, commercial, engineering, operations, and external vendors to align on realistic deliverables.
• Experience working with technology vendors or system integrators is a plus, but not essential.
