Job Description

Role Overview

You will be the quality gatekeeper for a cross-functional product team building web and mobile SaaS solutions, taking ownership of testing strategy from the first sprint through release and beyond. Your day-to-day work involves translating feature requirements into risk-based test plans, executing manual and exploratory tests across complex multi-tier systems, and turning defects into clear, actionable reports that keep engineering and product aligned. This is a hands-on role with a growth path: strong performers will have the chance to step into a QA Lead or Manager position as the team expands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement risk-based testing strategies for each project, prioritizing test effort based on feature complexity, usage patterns, and potential business impact.
  • Build and maintain detailed test cases, test plans, and traceability matrices that cover functional, integration, regression, and edge-case scenarios.
  • Validate the behavior of multi-tier web applications and mobile clients, including UI workflows, API interactions, data persistence, and cross-browser/device compatibility.
  • Log defects with precise reproduction steps, isolate root causes where possible, and track them through resolution while providing clear status updates to stakeholders.
  • Measure and report testing metrics such as pass/fail rates, defect density, and coverage to help the team understand product readiness.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and other QA team members at every stage of the SDLC to influence quality early in the development process.
  • Work with automation engineers to identify which test scenarios are best suited for automation and help integrate those into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for QA processes, test infrastructure, and team best practices while mentoring junior QA engineers and reviewing their work.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance, software development, or a combination of both, with a solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
  • Proven experience testing web-based applications, mobile applications, and multi-tier architectures that rely on databases, services, and front-end clients.
  • Strong ability to develop test plans and strategies from scratch, including risk analysis, test design techniques, and requirement traceability.
  • Hands-on experience with functional testing tools and/or performance and load testing tools relevant to modern SaaS products.
  • Comfort writing and executing SQL queries to validate data integrity, test database-driven features, and create realistic test data.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a track record of diagnosing complex issues and identifying their underlying causes.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban) and adapting testing activities to fast-paced, iterative delivery cycles.
  • Ability to manage priorities across multiple concurrent projects and communicate risks, progress, and mitigation plans clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken, for effective collaboration in a global team.

Preferred qualifications: familiarity with Selenium or similar automation frameworks, experience contributing to automation initiatives, mentoring junior engineers, leading QA process improvements, or demonstrating leadership potential with an interest in future Lead or Manager roles.
