Description:
We are currently looking for a highly experienced Senior PHP Developer to join a government-related project in the UAE. This role is ideal for professionals who have strong expertise in backend development, particularly in maintaining and enhancing legacy systems. Immediate availability is highly preferred for this position.
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining robust backend systems while ensuring high performance, security, and reliability in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain, and enhance legacy PHP-based applications
• Perform database design, optimization, and query tuning using MySQL
• Integrate and manage APIs, including REST and SOAP services
• Work with Apache server configurations and backend infrastructure
• Ensure secure coding practices and maintain code versioning using Git
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficiently
Requirements:
• Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience in PHP development, particularly with PHP 5.x / 5.6
• Strong expertise in MySQL (5.7), including database design and performance optimization
• Experience working with Apache servers, RESTful services, and SOAP APIs
• Solid understanding of secure coding standards and version control systems like Git
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working on government or regulated sector projects
• Familiarity with UAE digital standards and compliance frameworks
• Knowledge of modern PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies
