Role Overview
This is a school-based leadership position that balances daily operational oversight with long-term academic vision. You will guide teaching staff, shape instructional practices, and ensure the school runs smoothly while keeping students at the center of every decision. Your work directly impacts the quality of learning, staff morale, and the school’s standing with families and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the school’s academic program by setting clear instructional priorities, monitoring classroom practice, and using data to drive continuous improvement.
- Drive the adoption and refinement of Competency-Based Education (CBE), helping teachers shift from traditional time-based instruction to mastery-oriented learning.
- Create and maintain a welcoming, secure, and respectful environment where every student feels supported and motivated to succeed.
- Manage, coach, and evaluate teaching and support staff, providing regular feedback, professional development, and pathways for growth.
- Build strong partnerships with parents, local organizations, and education officials to support student achievement and community engagement.
- Oversee day-to-day school operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and compliance with educational standards.
- Model a collaborative leadership style that encourages teamwork, open communication, and shared responsibility for student outcomes.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed) or a closely related field.
- A minimum of five years of teaching experience, with at least three years in a recognized leadership role such as department head, coordinator, or assistant principal.
- Demonstrated ability to lead curriculum implementation and educational reform, particularly moving toward competency-based approaches.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of effective staff mentoring and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of school operations, instructional best practices, and student-centered learning environments.
- Familiarity with both national and international curricula is considered an added advantage.
