Sales Executive – Heavy Construction Equipment
Salary Budget: Ksh 60,000 (competitive based on experience)
Commission: Attractive sales commission payable on every successful machine sale in accordance with the Company’s commission structure.
Locations: Nairobi, Kisii, Kisumu, Migori
Job Summary
The Sales Executive will be responsible for promoting, marketing, and selling heavy construction equipment while developing long-term customer relationships and achieving sales targets. The role requires extensive knowledge of the construction equipment industry, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to provide customers with suitable equipment solutions based on their operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the construction, mining, road construction, quarry, infrastructure, logistics, and industrial sectors.
- Promote and sell heavy construction equipment including excavators, wheel loaders, motor graders, rollers, bulldozers, forklifts, cranes, and other machinery.
- Generate sales leads through field visits, cold calling, referrals, networking, exhibitions, and customer visits.
- Prepare and present professional quotations, proposals, and tenders.
- Conduct equipment demonstrations and explain machine features, specifications, productivity, and benefits to customers.
- Advise customers on equipment selection based on project requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contract conditions while maintaining company profitability.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Follow up on quotations and sales opportunities until closure.
- Maintain accurate customer records using the company’s CRM or sales reporting system.
- Monitor competitor activities, market pricing, and industry trends.
- Work closely with the spare parts and after-sales service departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate equipment delivery and ensure proper handover to customers.
- Assist customers in financing, leasing, insurance, and documentation processes where applicable.
- Prepare weekly sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence reports.
- Participate in exhibitions, trade shows, and marketing events.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and coordinate resolutions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical business practices.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Commerce, Entrepreneurship, Mechanical Engineering, or a related business field.
- Professional sales training will be an added advantage.
Experience (A MUST)
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ proven experience in the sale of heavy construction equipment.
- Experience selling brands such as LiuGong, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, JCB, Hyundai, Doosan, SANY, XCMG, SDLG, CASE, or similar is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve sales targets.
