Role Overview
You will be the driving force behind expanding our footprint across East Africa, focusing on commercial, industrial, and residential clients who are ready to adopt solar energy and electric mobility solutions. Your days will be split between scouting untapped markets, meeting with influential decision-makers, and steering complex B2B deals from first contact to signed contract. This role directly shapes our regional revenue growth and positions us as a leader in the clean energy transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and qualify new business leads across multiple East African markets, using a mix of cold outreach, networking, and referrals.
- Build and nurture trust-based relationships with developers, facility managers, government bodies, and other key stakeholders who influence purchasing decisions.
- Develop customised proposals that address each client's energy needs, including clear financial modelling, payback periods, and ROI projections.
- Lead contract negotiations and close deals for solar installations and e-mobility fleets, ensuring all terms meet both company and client objectives.
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts and activity reports to management on a regular basis.
- Track shifts in energy policy, fuel costs, and competitor offerings to adjust your sales strategy and highlight our unique value proposition.
- Coordinate with technical and project delivery teams to ensure smooth handovers and set realistic expectations for clients.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of direct B2B sales experience, with at least part of that time in renewable energy, solar, e-mobility, or related infrastructure sectors.
- Proven ability to meet revenue targets and manage a long sales cycle from prospecting to close.
- Strong commercial acumen, including the ability to draft financial analyses and explain complex value propositions in simple terms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence presenting to executives and government officials.
- High level of autonomy, paired with the discipline to collaborate with colleagues across sales, operations, and finance.
- Willingness to travel frequently within East Africa and adapt to different cultural and business environments.
