Job Description

Role Overview

This is a field-based, customer-owned sales position focused on guiding each prospect through a complete consultative journey with d.light's laptop offering. You will be the single point of contact from first conversation to post-purchase support, combining hands-on product demonstrations with ongoing training and financing guidance to help customers feel confident and committed to their new device. The role is central to d.light's mission of expanding access to technology, and your success depends on building genuine trust, driving adoption, and maintaining strong repayment performance within your assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build a steady pipeline of qualified leads through door-to-door outreach, community events, live demo sessions, and referrals from satisfied customers.
  • Run consultative, one-on-one demonstrations that match laptop hardware, Endless OS features, and built-in content to each customer's specific needs and skill level.
  • Present suitable financing options for each buyer, proactively addressing concerns about pricing, device compatibility, warranty coverage, and after-sales support.
  • Complete the full enrolment process, including KYC checks, identity verification, and PayGo financing setup, always following company policies and compliance standards.
  • Activate and configure devices on the spot, then deliver hands-on first-time user training that covers Endless OS navigation, key applications, and PayGo payment usage.
  • Stay in touch with customers after delivery and at critical milestones, providing ongoing coaching and troubleshooting to encourage device adoption and consistent repayment.
  • Plan daily field routes around lead priority and travel efficiency, ensuring maximum coverage of high-potential areas and households.
  • Log every interaction, demonstration, and sale in the CRM so the pipeline remains transparent and actionable for the broader team.
  • Take part in regular training sessions and team huddles, while responsibly maintaining and safeguarding company-issued demo units and sales tools.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 2 to 4 years of direct, field-based sales experience with a strong customer-facing component.
  • Proven background selling laptops, computers, smartphones, or other consumer electronics or software products is strongly preferred.
  • Relevant experience in education, training, or coaching end users on a new technology or process is an advantage, given the emphasis on onboarding and after-sales support.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell consultatively—building rapport, uncovering real customer needs, and closing through effective product demonstration rather than high-pressure tactics.
  • Familiarity with instalment financing, PayGo models, KYC checks, or credit assessment processes is a plus.
  • Comfortably digital literate, with a personal smartphone and confidence using CRM systems and mobile sales tools in the field.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned territory, including regular home visits and community-based demonstrations.
