Job Description

Role Overview

You will head sales administration for the Edible Oils & Fats category, turning day-to-day commercial activity into structured, reliable operational support. Your team will handle the behind-the-scenes mechanics that keep revenue flowing: order coordination, customer data integrity, planning cycles, and reporting that category leaders depend on. This role matters because a well-run sales operations function directly protects margin, reduces supply disruptions, and gives the commercial team the accurate information they need to make faster, smarter decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the sales administration team, setting priorities and daily workloads so that every order, claim, and customer request is processed accurately and on time.
  • Act as the operational bridge between sales, supply chain, finance, and customer service teams to ensure alignment on forecasts, stock availability, and delivery commitments.
  • Own sales reporting for the category, delivering weekly and monthly summaries on volumes, revenue, customer performance, and inventory positions to commercial leadership.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key distributors and retail or foodservice customers, resolving order discrepancies and proactively addressing service issues before they escalate.
  • Monitor market and competitor activity within the edible oils sector, feeding relevant insights back into the category strategy and identifying untapped growth opportunities.
  • Develop and enforce operational procedures for order processing, trade spend tracking, inventory reconciliation, and planning coordination, ensuring full compliance with company policies.
  • Support the execution of the category sales strategy by translating commercial initiatives into workable administrative workflows and ensuring the team is equipped to execute them.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, or a closely related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in FMCG sales operations or sales administration leadership, with direct responsibility for a team.
  • Hands-on experience in sales operations or sales administration specifically within the Edible Oils & Fats industry, including exposure to its customer base, product handling, and supply dynamics.
  • Strong proficiency with SAP or equivalent ERP systems, using them daily for order management, inventory checks, and customer master data maintenance.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to build pivot tables, complex formulas, and clear management dashboards from raw sales and inventory data.
  • Demonstrated coordination and analytical abilities, with the confidence to challenge inaccurate data and organise cross-functional teams toward a common deadline.
  • Leadership capability that enables you to coach, prioritise for, and hold accountable a sales administration team in a fast-moving commercial environment.
