Role Overview
This role sits at the front end of the sales cycle for a property management software product, where your day is spent finding property owners, landlords and managers who are still running their portfolios on spreadsheets and phone calls, then showing them a better way to work. You are the first point of contact for these prospects, so the quality of your outreach and follow-through directly shapes how many new accounts the business wins each quarter. It suits someone who enjoys being out in the market — on the phone, online and on site — and who takes ownership of a pipeline from first touch through to a successful handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a target list of prospective customers across the property sector, covering landlords, individual property owners, and professional property management firms.
- Open new conversations through a mix of cold calling, in-person field visits, referrals from existing contacts, networking events, social media outreach, and email campaigns.
- Run product demonstrations that show prospects exactly how the software handles day-to-day property and tenant administration, translating features into practical time and cost savings for their specific portfolio.
- Keep momentum on every open opportunity with structured, persistent follow-up, and work alongside the wider sales team to move deals through to close and hit agreed targets.
- Guide newly signed customers through their first steps with the platform, making introductions to the system and helping them get set up so adoption starts strong.
- Log all prospecting activity, pipeline movement, and customer conversations accurately so the team has a reliable view of the sales position at any point in time.
- Stay in touch with clients after the sale to protect the relationship and open the door to renewals, upsells, and referrals.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Real Estate, Property Management, Business Administration, or a comparable field.
- Prior exposure through an internship, attachment, sales role, or real estate and property management position is an advantage, though not essential for the right candidate.
- Confidence and composure in outbound situations — cold calls, walk-in visits, and conversations with property owners and managers who may be sceptical of new tools.
- Ability to explain software clearly to people who are not technical, and to tailor a demonstration to the size and type of portfolio in front of you.
- Discipline in keeping records current and following up on schedule without being reminded.
- Self-motivation and comfort working to targets, with the flexibility to spend time out in the field as well as in the office.
- Working familiarity with CRM tools, email marketing, and social platforms as channels for prospecting.
If you are early in your sales career and want a role where effort is visible in the numbers, this position offers a genuine grounding in B2B software selling within the property sector — from the first cold call through to a customer who is up and running on the system.
