Role Overview
As a key member of our lending team, you will drive both the growth and health of our loan portfolio by attracting qualified borrowers and safeguarding timely repayment. Day to day, you will balance proactive client relationship building with disciplined follow-up on outstanding accounts, ensuring that customers feel supported while the business meets its financial targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, engage, and onboard new loan clients while maintaining strong relationships with existing borrowers to encourage repeat business.
- Evaluate prospective borrowers' needs and recommend suitable loan products, guiding applicants through each step of the process.
- Review and verify loan applications, supporting documents, and repayment plans to ensure accuracy and policy compliance.
- Meet agreed loan disbursement volumes and collection targets each period, tracking personal performance against goals.
- Monitor repayment schedules and reach out to clients before and after due dates to secure on-time payments.
- Handle overdue accounts through structured negotiations and follow-up calls, proposing repayment solutions when appropriate.
- Maintain clear, timely records of client interactions, disbursement activity, and collection actions to support accurate reporting.
- Uphold high service standards by responding promptly to client inquiries and resolving payment or documentation concerns professionally.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a closely related discipline.
- At least two years of hands-on experience as a loan officer, collection officer, or relationship officer in a lending or financial services environment.
- Demonstrated ability to meet disbursement and collection performance targets with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills, both spoken and written, with a professional and courteous approach when dealing with clients.
- Excellent customer service instincts, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to manage difficult conversations calmly.
- Solid negotiation and persuasion skills, particularly in securing overdue payments while preserving client goodwill.
- Comfortable working with loan documentation, payment records, and basic financial calculations.
- Good organizational skills for managing a busy client load and following through on commitments.
