Role Overview
This position supports the delivery of projects under Transparency International Kenya’s governance and public finance management portfolio. Day-to-day work involves coordinating project logistics, maintaining partner communications, tracking budgets and timelines, and preparing reports for internal and donor audiences. The role matters because it keeps anti-corruption and accountability initiatives moving on schedule and ensures that project teams, partners, and funders stay aligned on progress and results.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and update core project documents such as workplans, budgets, activity concepts, agendas, and monitoring frameworks, then submit them for approval.
- Arrange all operational details for workshops, seminars, conferences, and field missions, including travel bookings, venue setup, participant registration, and session facilitation.
- Act as a liaison between the programme team and external stakeholders, responding to inquiries, sharing updates, and maintaining an accurate, current contact database of donors, policymakers, civil society partners, and other collaborators.
- Track project deliverables against approved timelines and budgets, flagging risks or delays and supporting course corrections as needed.
- Contribute to reporting cycles by compiling activity summaries, monthly and quarterly updates, and donor-facing financial and narrative submissions in line with agreed formats and deadlines.
- Support resource mobilisation efforts by helping to draft funding proposals, map project resource needs, and identify potential revenue streams or sustainability opportunities.
- Draft quarterly articles and social media content that highlight programme work and corruption-related issues, coordinating with the communications team to ensure alignment with organisational messaging.
- Conduct ongoing research and environmental scanning on public finance accountability trends to inform project design, reviews, and adaptive implementation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, political science, law, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and research capabilities, with the ability to synthesise information on governance and public finance topics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interacting with diverse stakeholders and drafting professional correspondence.
- Solid organisational skills and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently.
- Genuine interest in good governance, anti-corruption, and civic accountability work, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and prior internship or volunteer experience in project support is an added advantage.
