Role Overview
This role ensures that agricultural development programmes run smoothly by coordinating daily activities, maintaining project tracking tools, and organising logistics for workshops and field visits. You will work alongside programme teams to monitor progress against work plans, identify implementation risks, and support stakeholder communication. The position matters because it directly contributes to efficient delivery of market systems projects while offering you hands-on exposure to the full programme cycle from planning through reporting and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain updated work plans, activity trackers, and implementation calendars for ongoing projects.
- Coordinate logistics for programme meetings, workshops, field visits, and stakeholder engagements.
- Track project deliverables, milestones, and timelines; flag bottlenecks to programme managers.
- Compile progress updates, activity summaries, and draft reports for internal and external use.
- Document lessons learned, success stories, and key achievements for knowledge sharing.
- Support communication with partners, consultants, and service providers, including follow-up actions from meetings.
- Organise stakeholder consultations, learning events, and partnership meetings.
- Collaborate with communications, research, data, and business development teams on cross-functional programme needs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Social Sciences (Sociology, International Relations, Public Administration, Economics, Community Development, or related fields), Development Studies, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: Recent graduate (within the last three years). Prior experience supporting projects, events, student leadership, or volunteer initiatives is an added advantage.
- Skills: Strong organisational and administrative abilities; capacity to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Solid written and verbal communication skills. Basic understanding of project management principles and tools.
- Competencies: Attention to detail, ability to manage timelines, problem-solving orientation, strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, eagerness to learn, reliability, and professional integrity.
- Eligibility: Must have legal authorisation to work in Kenya and be available for the full three-month internship period.
