We are seeking a highly disciplined and technical Production Manager to lead our integrated manufacturing facility in Kariobangi. This is a unique leadership role requiring oversight of three distinct production lines: Plastics, Metal, and Wood. You will be the central figure responsible for transforming raw materials into high-quality funeral service products, ensuring that each department operates as a high-efficiency unit. The ideal candidate is a "quality-first" manager who can navigate the technical nuances of metal fabrication, woodwork, and precision plastic coating while maintaining a safe and productive environment for a large workforce.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Integrated Workflow & Staff Supervision

• Orchestrate daily operations across the Wood, Metal, and Plastic departments to ensure seamless inter-departmental transitions.

• Utilize job cards for task allocation, ensuring every employee is productive and adhering to set timelines.

• Monitor staff attendance and enforce strict workplace safety protocols across all manufacturing sections.

• Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks to ensure production targets are consistently met without compromising safety.

Department-Specific Oversight

• Wood Section: Monitor workflow from raw timber to finished product, ensuring precision in craftsmanship and efficiency in output.

• Metal Section: Supervise fabrication processes, ensuring the proper use of heavy machinery and maintenance of safety standards at every stage.

• Plastic Section (High-Precision): Manage a rigorous multi-stage quality control process, including hanger installation, oiling, and defect-free gold coating applications.

Quality Control & Final Inspection

• Conduct meticulous checks to ensure all items are free from dust, scratches, spills, or contamination before approval.

• Verify that gold coating meets approved color and quality benchmarks before final unhanging.

• Oversee the packaging process, ensuring correct weight consistency, neatness, and accurate labeling (product name, weight, and color specs).

• Approve only those products that meet 100% of the company's rigorous quality standards for final dispatch.

Data Tracking & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain comprehensive daily production logs, tracking output, wastage, downtime, and overall efficiency.

• Implement continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives to reduce operational waste and maximize resource utilization.

• Provide management with accurate weekly and monthly reports on department performance and manufacturing challenges.

Requirements & Competencies

Professional Background

• Experience: Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a production or manufacturing environment.

• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes in plastics (especially coating), metal fabrication, or wood industries.

• Multi-Line Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple production lines and diverse technical teams simultaneously.
