Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced, operations-anchored Product Lead - Sportsbook to drive the execution, commercial performance, and user-experience scaling of our digital betting platform. Your primary objective is to maintain uninterrupted market availability, absolute settlement accuracy, and optimal margin protection across our regional sports betting ecosystems. This position bridges meticulous product operations with direct team management; you will guide high-performing Resulting and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) squads while staying actively involved in odds monitoring, fixture validation, and transactional data audits. The role demands an analytically sharp gaming professional with a deep grasp of regional betting behaviors who can seamlessly translate data-driven insights into competitive product features.

Core Competencies

Operational Execution & Trading Overviews

• Command the daily live sportsbook engine, ensuring continuous event uptime, competitive pricing lines, and zero settlement delays.
• Analyze betting activities, high-volume turnover trends, and unusual market behaviors in real time to secure bottom-line margins.
• Oversee immediate fixture creation, sports catalog configurations, and quality checks across multi-tier pre-match and in-play fields.
• Manage third-party data feeds, platform integrations, and algorithmic trading suppliers to fix delivery drops quickly.
• Intercept and resolve customer-facing site incidents, slip-calculation glitches, and service escalations under strict response timelines.

Team Leadership & Quality Assurance

• Mentor, train, and manage the daily outputs of the dedicated platform Resulting and platform validation (UAT) staff.
• Deploy standardized operational checklists, performance trackers, and execution frameworks to ensure maximum team output.
• Spearhead recruitment runs, professional onboarding plans, and progressive capability testing for incoming platform technicians.
• Cultivate a tight workplace culture rooted in extreme attention to details, system ownership, and zero-error risk tracking.

Product Development & UX Enhancement

• Collaborate with product engineering and technology pods to strip out friction across mobile bet placements and payout workflows.
• Lead structural validation runs during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to clear out system bugs ahead of patch updates.
• Identify and roll out fresh competitive features, including localized sports markets, gamification features, and tailored retention assets.
• Convert raw user feedback profiles and operational friction metrics into definitive engineering improvement briefs.

Commercial Optimization & Analytics

• Audit standard business performance metrics, including Turnover, Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR), Margin Holds, and User LTV maps.
• Support the commercial design and launch of high-impact promotional campaigns, tournaments, and localized loyalty programs.
• Extract structural competitor insights, monitoring regional market adjustments, payment channel variations, and odd changes.

Compliance, Auditing & Risk Controls

• Protect the core platform by enforcing absolute compliance with the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) and regional data acts.
• Conduct systematic operational deep dives covering settlement logs, validation paths, and responsible gaming flags.
• Track local legislative updates, fiscal taxation structures, and security protocols across expanding continental markets.

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum Entry Criteria

• Professional Longevity: Minimum of 5 years of progressive, hands-on experience specializing in sportsbook trading, platform operations, or digital gaming product management.
• Operational Command: Verifiable track record managing live betting environments, software risk systems, and high-stakes settlement pipelines.
• Technical Analytics: Exceptional data-driven mindset with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL frameworks, or corporate Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
• Sector Fluency: Comprehensive understanding of trading math, odd calculation modules, risk exposures, and customer behavior across African gaming channels.
