Role Overview
This role ensures the smooth day-to-day execution of operational workflows within a hospitality setting, supporting departments such as culinary, procurement, or front-of-house. You will collaborate with team leads to maintain service standards, control costs, and streamline processes that directly impact guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily scheduling and task assignments across kitchen, supply chain, or administrative teams to maintain uninterrupted service.
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders with approved vendors, and ensure receipts match purchase orders to control waste and expense.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, reconciling invoices, and tracking budget variances for your assigned cost centre.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations by conducting regular walkthroughs and documenting corrective actions.
- Serve as a liaison between departments—such as culinary, finance, and logistics—to resolve operational bottlenecks.
- Train and mentor new staff on standard operating procedures, equipment use, and company policies.
- Support menu development or supply chain optimisation projects by gathering data, analysing usage trends, and proposing improvements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least two years of hands-on experience in a comparable operational role, preferably within hotels, restaurants, or catering.
- Demonstrated history of working specifically within the hospitality industry, understanding its unique pace, service expectations, and seasonal demands.
- A professional certification in culinary arts, business administration, supply chain management, or finance—from an accredited programme or industry body.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
- Basic proficiency with inventory management software, spreadsheets, and point-of-sale systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate across diverse teams and with external vendors.
