Role Overview
This teaching role focuses on delivering the SABIS curriculum and applying its proven instructional methods to drive student success. Day to day, you will follow structured lesson plans, administer and mark exams, and maintain a productive classroom environment using the SABIS point system. Your work directly supports academic growth for all students, from those needing extra help to those preparing for external assessments, while also contributing to the broader school community through assigned duties and student life activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lessons using provided plans and adjust based on pacing charts when necessary to meet curriculum goals.
- Grade exams and assessments according to departmental schedules and marking guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Academic Quality Controller and Head of Department on student performance and discipline matters.
- Enforce the SABIS point system to foster a focused, orderly learning environment.
- Proctor examinations, ensuring a secure and well-managed testing atmosphere.
- Identify and support low-performing students through targeted guidance and motivation to help them improve.
- Prepare students for external exams by reviewing past papers and following structured revision plans where applicable.
- Handle various administrative tasks, including substituting for absent teachers, organizing students for meals and transport, managing traffic, and assisting with school events such as open houses and art activities.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in English (native-level required for Infant and English teacher positions).
- Minimum of one year of teaching experience.
- Valid Teacher Service Commission (TSC) number.
- Professional demeanor and ethical conduct in all interactions.
- Proven ability to deliver measurable results in student learning.
- Commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement.
- Accountability and ownership of classroom and school responsibilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
