- Align all teaching activities with the competency-based curriculum requirements and the broader educational goals of the school.
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments to track learner progress, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and developmental observations.
- Create an inclusive and disciplined classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and supports diverse learning styles.
- Identify learners requiring extra support or enrichment and implement appropriate interventions or extension strategies.
- Engage with parents and guardians through structured meetings and regular communication to keep them informed of student achievement and behaviour.
- Support school activities such as clubs, sports, and educational trips, while upholding professional ethics and the standards of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Requirements & Qualifications
- Must be a TSC-certified teacher with a valid registration certificate from the Teachers Service Commission.
- A minimum of three years of verifiable teaching experience, ideally within a junior secondary or middle school setting.
- Proven capability to teach effectively in the JSS section, including familiarity with the Kenyan competency-based curriculum (CBC) at the junior school level.
- Strong command of the subject content relevant to JSS instruction, as well as excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A bachelor's degree in education or a relevant teaching diploma from a recognised institution is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to learner-centred pedagogy, continuous professional development, and collaborative teamwork with fellow teaching staff.
