Role Overview
This pharmacy role supports the safe, accurate supply of medicines in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting. The pharmacist technician assists customers and healthcare staff with medicine-related needs while helping maintain reliable day-to-day pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive prescriptions and help process them accurately in line with pharmacy procedures.
- Prepare and dispense medicines under the appropriate professional supervision.
- Provide clear information to customers about medicine use and direct clinical questions to the relevant healthcare professional.
- Check medicine stock, monitor expiry dates, and support proper storage and inventory records.
- Keep dispensing areas, records, and medication-handling processes organised and compliant.
- Communicate with patients, colleagues, and healthcare staff to support effective service.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised institution.
- Registration and enrolment with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- At least one year of experience in a busy hospital or pharmacy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
