Job Description

Human Resource Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resource Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will support all aspects of HR operations, with a focus on recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HR administration. This role requires a solid understanding of the Kenyan Employment Act and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and candidate selection.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding procedures to ensure a smooth transition for all employees.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, handling grievances and disciplinary processes in line with company policy and labour laws.
  • Maintain and update HR records and the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Advise management and staff on the Kenyan Employment Act and other relevant labour legislation.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Prepare HR reports and correspondence using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Assist with payroll administration and benefits management as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
  • A Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management (CHRP) or progress toward certification is highly desirable.
  • Membership with IHRM Kenya will be an added advantage.
  • At least three (3) years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HR administration.
  • Working knowledge of the Kenyan Employment Act and other relevant labour legislation.
  • Experience using HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
