Role Overview

This role serves as a trusted clinical point of contact for patients receiving care through digital health services. Day to day, the nurse assesses symptoms, decides how urgently a patient needs attention, carries out nursing tasks within scope, and provides clear health guidance. The position is central to helping the organisation deliver safe, responsive, and well-coordinated care while keeping the patient experience at the centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough clinical evaluations, collect complete health histories, and track vital signs over time.
• Prioritise patients according to urgency, recognise signs that need immediate attention, and refer emergency or face-to-face cases to the appropriate care pathway.
• Carry out hands-on nursing tasks such as wound management, administering injections, and gathering specimens when the care model and scope allow.
• Deliver personalised nursing support, explain health topics clearly, and offer counselling that reflects each patient’s needs and preferences.
• Keep electronic patient records accurate, up to date, and confidential within the digital health platforms used by the team.
• Coordinate with physicians, specialists, and other clinicians to ensure each patient receives joined-up care.
• Follow clinical protocols, professional nursing standards, patient-safety rules, and established virtual-care practices.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A nursing qualification from a recognised or accredited institution.
• Current registration and practising licence with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
• Solid clinical assessment and triage abilities, including the confidence to identify deteriorating patients and escalate promptly.
• Comfort using digital health platforms and electronic patient record systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication, with the empathy and judgement needed for remote patient interactions.
• Ability to follow protocols consistently while working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in clinical nursing, telehealth, or triage is preferred.
