Role Overview
This Actuarial Analyst position sits within the Group Actuarial function, working closely with the Actuarial Manager to modernise how actuarial reporting is produced across both Life and General Insurance operations. On a daily basis, you will be hands-on with data pipelines, model configurations, and reporting systems, helping to streamline IFRS 17 processes and embed automation. Your work directly supports the accuracy and timeliness of Group-level financial reporting, making this a key role for someone who thrives at the intersection of actuarial science and technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Help design and implement automated workflows that streamline IFRS 17 actuarial reporting for both Life and General Insurance entities.
- Prepare, validate, and reconcile data sets that feed into actuarial models and reporting outputs.
- Maintain and update actuarial model configurations, assumption sets, and supporting documentation.
- Contribute to the development, testing, and refinement of actuarial models used for valuation, reserving, and financial projections.
- Take part in integrating actuarial models with Group reporting platforms and underlying data systems.
- Provide testing and documentation support for system enhancements and upgrades.
- Work alongside Finance, IT, and subsidiary actuarial teams to ensure actuarial outputs are accurate, efficient, and consistent.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
- Actively pursuing an actuarial qualification (IFoA, SOA, ASSA, or equivalent), with at least three exams passed.
- Minimum of two years of actuarial experience in either Life or General Insurance.
- Familiarity with IFRS 17 principles and hands-on exposure to actuarial software such as Prophet, MoSes, AXIS, or a comparable platform.
- Strong Excel skills; additional experience with SQL, Python, or Power BI is beneficial.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a meticulous eye for detail.
- Self-motivated and curious, with a genuine interest in actuarial systems and automation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working with cross-functional teams.
- Well-organised and able to manage tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
