Role Overview
This position puts you in charge of growing our consumer brands within the modern trade channel — the supermarkets, hypermarkets, and national chains where shoppers make split-second buying decisions. Day to day, you'll negotiate shelf space, secure promotional placements, and coordinate with internal teams to keep stock flowing into the right stores at the right time. Your efforts directly determine how visible our products are in thousands of outlets and, ultimately, how much market share we capture against fierce competitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and execute a modern trade sales plan for the FMCG department, translating revenue targets into per-account action plans.
- Own relationships with buyers and category managers at key accounts, acting as the primary commercial contact for contract renewals and day-to-day negotiations.
- Drive in-store excellence by auditing shelf positioning, planogram compliance, and point-of-sale material, fixing gaps before they hurt sales.
- Negotiate trade investment, promotional calendars, and listing terms that deliver mutual value while protecting margin.
- Track competitor pricing, launch activity, and consumer behaviour shifts, then feed those insights back into strategy and category reviews.
- Coordinate with supply chain and marketing to ensure promotional stock lands on time and that new product launches get the visibility they need.
- Maintain rolling sales forecasts, share-of-shelf reports, and post-promotional analysis for management decision-making.
- Hit monthly, quarterly, and annual targets for volume, distribution points, and revenue across the assigned account portfolio.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in modern trade or key account management, specifically within an FMCG environment.
- Demonstrable success in growing sales and distribution within supermarket and hypermarket channels, with examples of winning listings or improving shelf share.
- Strong commercial acumen, including solid grasp of trade terms, promotional ROI, and retail P&L mechanics.
- Proven negotiation and persuasion skills, comfortable operating at buyer and category manager level.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, plus the analytical ability to turn raw sales data into actionable stories.
- Self-starter mindset: able to prioritise multiple accounts, work autonomously, and remain disciplined under pressure.
What We Offer / Why Join
- Competitive remuneration package with performance-based incentives tied to your account results.
- Clear room for career growth as the company continues to scale its FMCG portfolio.
- A fast-paced, results-driven environment where your commercial decisions directly shape outcomes.
- The opportunity to work with well-known brands and build deep relationships with the region's top retail players.
