Role Overview
You will be the primary driver of new revenue for an established automotive import business, taking charge of the full sales cycle from initial enquiry to vehicle delivery. Day to day, you will engage with buyers across multiple channels, match them to the right imported vehicles, and keep them informed as their order moves through sourcing, shipping, and handover. Your ability to build trust and close deals directly impacts the company's growth and market share in a competitive import sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect fresh leads through outbound outreach, referrals, and networking while actively welcoming walk-in customers and responding to phone, email, WhatsApp, and social media enquiries.
- Conduct needs-based consultations to understand each buyer's budget, usage, and preferences, then recommend suitable imported vehicle models with clear rationale.
- Prepare accurate quotations and negotiate price, trade-ins, and payment terms within the approved pricing framework to protect profit margins while securing the sale.
- Meticulously follow up on every potential deal, using a structured pipeline to move prospects from initial interest to deposit and final purchase.
- Coordinate with internal teams to track each ordered vehicle from sourcing and shipping through customs clearance and final delivery, proactively updating the customer at every milestone.
- Maintain a clean, up-to-date CRM database with complete customer histories, buying preferences, and communication logs to support future sales and retention efforts.
- Monitor local vehicle market trends, competitor pricing, and shifting customer demand, then feed those insights into inventory selection and promotional strategy.
- Represent the company at exhibitions, test-drive events, and targeted marketing activations to generate qualified leads and strengthen brand visibility.
- Prepare regular sales reports covering conversion rates, revenue performance, lead sources, and follow-up activity for management review.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related commercial discipline.
- Minimum of two years of directly relevant sales experience in motor vehicle sales, auto dealerships, or a comparably high-value consultative selling environment.
- Demonstrable history of consistently hitting or exceeding monthly and annual sales targets, with figures you can discuss in interview.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skill, capable of holding margin while moving stock quickly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable presenting tailored recommendations to a diverse customer base.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with CRM software for pipeline management and reporting.
- Understanding of imported vehicles — including popular makes, model specifications, compliance considerations, and the import process — is a distinct advantage.
- Valid driving licence is preferred, as you may need to arrange test drives and conduct vehicle handovers.
