Job Description

Role Overview

This position is responsible for keeping a fleet of ground support and depot equipment in a fully serviceable, safety-compliant condition. Day to day, the role involves building and executing maintenance schedules, monitoring the defect log, and managing spare parts so that every unit remains ready for operational use. The work is critical to avoiding unplanned downtime and ensuring that all maintenance activity meets strict aviation and HSEQ standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a structured maintenance plan for all equipment, based on the approved quality and operations manual.
  • Oversee the execution of scheduled maintenance tasks, confirming each job is completed on time and in line with documented procedures.
  • Track and replenish critical spares to ensure parts are available when scheduled maintenance is due, without holding excess stock.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment, following manufacturer and company specifications.
  • Enforce safety and compliance during all depot maintenance activities by aligning with ISO, JIG/ATI, and company HSEQ directives.
  • Review the defect logbook daily to prioritise repairs and assign work to the team.
  • Tag and remove defective equipment from service immediately, preventing any unsafe or non-functional unit from being used.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and take ownership of equipment availability, serviceability, and spares inventory levels.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with an automotive specialisation.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience, preferably within the aviation or related heavy-equipment industry.
  • Proven ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance workloads effectively.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with rigorous documentation and record-keeping habits.
  • Experience managing spare parts inventory and ensuring critical items remain available.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to liaise with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Supervisory experience, including guiding technicians and ensuring tasks are completed to standard.
  • Demonstrated accountability for operational reliability, with the ability to respond quickly to equipment failures.
