LPG Supervisor

Role Overview

This role places you at the operational core of a high-risk LPG storage and distribution facility, where you will be accountable for the safe, efficient, and compliant running of plant activities on a day-to-day basis. You will coordinate everything from marine fuel receipts and stock reconciliation to maintenance planning and staff supervision, while ensuring that all processes align with both company policies and international quality and environmental standards. Your work directly supports the reliability of supply to customers and the protection of people, assets, and the environment in a demanding industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all plant operations, including the safe receipt of LPG from vessels, storage management, and the coordination of distribution to meet customer demand without compromising safety or efficiency.
• Drive compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001 by coordinating and monitoring the implementation of quality and environmental management programmes across the site.
• Identify and assess hazards through structured risk analysis for both the facility and specific tasks, then implement robust safety barriers and maintain the integrity and reliability of all equipment.
• Support the Plant Manager in budget preparation and control, while ensuring that staffing conditions, shift patterns, and HR requirements are consistently met across the plant.
• Plan and supervise all capital and maintenance projects for the fiscal year, ensuring timely execution, proper resource allocation, and alignment with operational needs.
• Reconcile stock levels against market demand by working closely with marketing, planning, and supply teams, and maintain accurate records of LPG bulk stocks and cylinder float for daily, decadal, and monthly reporting.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between SAP records and physical operations, implementing corrective actions to ensure accurate accountability and minimise losses.
• Review and improve distribution plans continuously, ensuring cost-effective routing and scheduling while liaising with customer care teams to guarantee safe and timely order fulfilment.
• Manage risks associated with storage, transit, and potential fraud or pilferage, and coordinate with external stakeholders including government agencies and industry peers to uphold safety and regulatory standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• At least 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience working within a hydrocarbons depot or similar high-hazard storage and distribution environment.
• A strong safety mindset with proven ability to conduct hazard identification, risk assessment, and implementation of control measures.
• Demonstrated experience in managing operational sites or production plants with minimal supervision, including budget oversight and staff leadership.
• Solid understanding of stock management principles, including cycle counting, variance analysis, and reconciliation using enterprise systems such as SAP.
• Excellent planning, coordination, and operational control skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work long hours and cope with the pressure of 24-hour high-risk operations, including marine LPG receipt activities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a high level of integrity, customer service orientation, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external regulatory bodies.
