Role Overview
You will deliver lectures and practical instruction to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, while actively shaping their academic journey through mentoring and research supervision. Your work directly supports the department's teaching quality, research output, and strategic growth, making you a key contributor to the faculty's academic reputation and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lectures and lead seminars across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, adapting content to diverse learning levels.
- Design, set, and grade examinations in line with university regulations, ensuring fair and rigorous assessment processes.
- Guide students as an academic advisor, helping them navigate course choices, research projects, and career development.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and research projects, providing constructive feedback through each phase.
- Draft competitive research proposals for both internal and external funding, advancing the department's research agenda.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, implementation, and periodic review to keep programmes current and relevant.
- Participate in departmental meetings, strategic planning sessions, and interdisciplinary collaborations to improve faculty operations and research networks.
- Represent the department at conferences, workshops, and seminars, and participate in consultancy or community engagement activities as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A PhD or equivalent doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline from an accredited and recognized university, or a Master's degree in a special case combined with at least three years of university teaching, research, or industry experience.
- Demonstrated teaching experience at university level, with the ability to develop effective learning materials and manage both large lectures and small-group supervision.
- A track record of research output evidenced by at least twenty-four publication points, including a minimum of ten points from peer-reviewed journal articles.
- Professional registration with the relevant regulatory body, where applicable to your field, or clear eligibility to obtain registration.
- Strong communication, organizational, and mentoring skills, with a collaborative mindset for cross-departmental and interdisciplinary work.
- Experience in academic administration, curriculum design, or examination management is advantageous.
