Day to day, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess learner progress against CBC standards, and create a classroom environment that encourages active participation and holistic development. Your work directly supports the school's mission to nurture competent, confident, and values-driven learners ready for the next stage of their education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver weekly lesson plans aligned with the CBC framework for your subject area, integrating core competencies such as critical thinking, creativity, and communication.
  • Facilitate learner-centered lessons that accommodate diverse learning needs, using group work, discussions, and practical activities to deepen understanding.
  • Administer formative and summative assessments, track individual learner progress, and provide timely feedback to learners and their families.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, grades, and developmental observations, ensuring compliance with school and ministry guidelines.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to foster discipline, respect, and a safe learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers to plan interdisciplinary activities, school events, and co-curricular programmes that reinforce classroom learning.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding learner achievement, challenges, and strategies for support at home.
  • Participate in professional development sessions and staff meetings focused on refining CBC delivery and teaching methodologies.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Education with a specialization in English, Kiswahili, or Mathematics.
  • Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience in a recognised school setting.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC), including its assessment tools and learner-centered approaches.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain an orderly and motivating learning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in at least the subject language of instruction, with the ability to engage learners of varying abilities.
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships with learners, parents, and colleagues, fostering a collaborative school culture.
