Job Description

Role Overview

This is a field-based sales role with a leading telecommunications provider, covering a defined territory where you will be the main point of contact for SIM Selling Outlets (SSOs) and T-Kash agents. Most of your week is spent on the move, visiting retailers in person to raise awareness of current products, keep their SIM and float positions healthy, and make sure the brand is presented well where customers actually buy. The work matters because outlet-level execution — stocked shelves, trained agents, visible branding — is what turns a route plan into activations, transactions, and long-term retailer loyalty. You report to the Area Sales Manager and are measured on how well your outlets perform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work through an agreed route plan each day, calling on assigned SSOs and T-Kash agents across the territory and keeping a consistent, verifiable call rate.
  • Identify, recruit, and map new agents, prioritising mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores that can move meaningful volumes.
  • Equip every outlet for trouble-free trading by supplying the required transaction tools and materials, and walking agents through how each process works.
  • Train T-Kash agents on anti-money-laundering requirements and coach SSO staff on the KYC steps tied to SIM registration, testing their understanding so compliance standards hold at the counter.
  • Monitor float and stock positions closely, enforcing the 1.5x stock rule for agents and making sure SSOs always hold enough SIMs to handle new registrations and activations.
  • Set and maintain merchandising standards, placing and refreshing point-of-purchase materials so products are visible, correctly positioned, and easy for customers to find.
  • Pick up on-the-ground intelligence about competitor activity, pricing shifts, and outlet pain points, and feed it back to the Area Sales Manager.
  • Report recruitment progress, visit outcomes, and performance gaps through the agreed reporting routine, acting quickly on any outlet that falls behind.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in a sales and distribution role, ideally within FMCG or the telecommunications sector.
  • Practical grasp of route-to-market selling, outlet-level stock control, and trade activation techniques.
  • Familiarity with SIM registration, KYC, and AML expectations at agent level.
  • Customer focus — able to build trust with retailers and resolve issues on the spot rather than escalating everything.
  • Influencing and negotiation skills strong enough to win retailer commitment on stock, float, and visibility.
  • Networking and partnership-building ability across outlets, agents, and internal teams.
  • Analytical thinking — comfortable reading sales and stock trends and turning them into action.
  • Willingness to spend the bulk of the working week travelling within the assigned territory, largely unsupervised.

Interested candidates should send an application letter stating expected salary, a detailed CV, and a daytime telephone number to [email protected], quoting TDR–Webuye in the subject line.
