Inventory Officer

Role Overview

This position sits at the heart of our supply chain operations, ensuring that every unit of stock—from raw coconut inputs to finished packaged goods—is accurately counted, properly stored, and reliably tracked. Day to day, the role combines hands-on inventory control with supervisory duties, coordinating collection centre reconciliations, warehouse organisation, and data-driven reporting to keep production flowing without interruptions or losses.

Key Responsibilities

• Run cycle counts and full stock takes on a scheduled basis, investigating and resolving any mismatches between physical stock and system records.
• Plan the layout and storage of packaging materials and finished items to make the best use of available space while keeping frequently used stock within easy reach.
• Track and reconcile coconut volumes arriving from multiple collection centres, validating delivery documentation and resolving variances promptly.
• Provide day-to-day direction to warehouse assistants, ensuring they follow correct handling techniques, documentation rules, and housekeeping standards.
• Keep bin cards and movement logs current, verifying that every inbound, outbound, and transfer transaction is recorded accurately and in line with internal procedures.
• Flag slow-moving, expired, or damaged stock to the inventory manager with clear recommendations for disposal, return, or write-off.
• Evaluate reorder points for production inputs and packaging supplies, adjusting levels based on consumption trends, lead times, and upcoming production plans to avoid stockouts or excess holdings.
• Champion workplace safety across the warehouse, reinforcing proper lifting techniques, equipment use, and storage protocols during daily supervision and team briefings.
• Pull and analyse inventory data to produce monthly or periodic reports, highlighting trends, shrinkage risks, and process gaps for management review.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Accounting, or a related field; a CPA finalist status is also acceptable.
• At least three years of practical experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a closely related accounting role with stock-related duties.
• Solid working knowledge of inventory management principles, including cycle counting, FIFO/FEFO, and stock reconciliation methods.
• Hands-on proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and data visualisation for reporting.
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to spot patterns in stock data and make sound, timely decisions under pressure.
• Proven leadership capability, with experience supervising or mentoring warehouse staff and building accountability within a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable coordinating with collection centre operators, production teams, and senior management alike.
