Role Context
We are looking for a principled Internal Inspector to safeguard our organic and Fair-Trade certifications. Based in Kwale, you will be the primary link between field production and international regulatory bodies, ensuring that every farm and collection center adheres to USDA/NOP and EU organic standards. This is a field-intensive role requiring high mobility and technical accuracy.
Key Deliverables
Your objective is to maintain the integrity of our Internal Control System (ICS). You will conduct rigorous on-site inspections, verify field management practices, and perform yield estimations to prevent non-compliance. Beyond auditing, you will mentor farmers on climate-smart techniques and ensure that coconut traceability is maintained from the tree to the processing unit.
Professional Prerequisites

Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of organic production methods (EU 2018/848 and USDA standards) and Fair-Trade requirements.

Field Capability: Willingness to spend long hours riding and walking through farms; a valid motorcycle license is mandatory.

Communication: Ability to translate complex certification rules into practical advice for farmers of all literacy levels.

Digital Literacy: Proficiency in using smart gadgets for surveys and Microsoft Excel for accurate data reporting.
Scope of Work

Certification Audits: Carrying out internal inspections of farms and production units in line with the annual work plan and Grower Group Quality Manual.

Compliance Monitoring: Identifying non-compliance issues and providing clear guidance on corrective actions to farmers.

Staff & Farmer Training: Educating field officers and buying clerks on inspection processes and updated organic regulations.

Data Integrity: Compiling detailed reports for the ICS data clerk and ensuring the Approved Farmers List (AFL) is current and accurate.

Impartiality: Maintaining strict ethical boundaries by declaring conflicts of interest and ensuring you do not audit personal ties or own land parcels.
