Role Overview
This position centers on the safe and efficient movement of goods across a busy warehouse floor. You will operate a forklift as your primary tool, ensuring that incoming and outgoing stock is loaded, unloaded, and positioned correctly to keep daily workflows moving without interruption. Your attention to equipment care and workplace safety directly supports the warehouse team in meeting its operational targets while protecting both products and people from avoidable harm.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete daily collection and delivery assignments by transporting goods between storage areas, loading bays, and delivery vehicles as directed.
- Perform a pre-shift inspection of the forklift, checking critical components such as brakes, lights, hydraulics, and tires, and report any defects before beginning work.
- Load and unload client merchandise according to the warehouse supervisor's specific instructions, paying close attention to weight distribution and stacking stability.
- Place goods in designated storage locations with precision, ensuring pallets are secure and accessible while maintaining clear, hazard-free aisles and work zones.
- Adhere strictly to occupational health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and all company operating procedures during every task.
- Coordinate with the warehouse supervisor and fellow team members to prioritize tasks and meet daily operational output goals efficiently.
- Operate the forklift with care to avoid damage to products, racking, or the machine itself, keeping operational expenses low.
- Immediately report any forklift malfunctions or damages to the workshop team so that repairs can be scheduled without disrupting warehouse activity.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A minimum of an Ordinary Level (O Level) education or equivalent academic qualification.
- A valid and relevant forklift driving license or operator certification that permits you to legally operate the equipment.
- At least two years of hands-on experience in forklift operations, warehouse logistics, or a closely related materials handling role.
- Demonstrated ability to safely maneuver a forklift in tight spaces and around moving pedestrian traffic.
- Solid understanding of load securing techniques, stacking protocols, and basic forklift maintenance checks.
- Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the reliability to follow supervisor instructions without constant oversight.
