Job Title: Field Operations Technician

Reporting Structure

Primary Reporting: Team Leader Field Operations

Job Summary

Perform maintenance and operations activities within the assigned area, ensuring service quality and continuity according to set KPIs and within budgeted costs. Execute and follow up on network extensions. Detect and report dysfunctions of network elements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend to equipment faults logged in the trouble ticket (TT) system, complying with corrective maintenance KPIs.
  • Perform preventive routine maintenance to ensure consistent equipment and environment health checks.
  • Coordinate with Support and NMC teams to analyze fault incidents, ensuring accurate, timely corrections and clear confirmations are communicated.
  • Propose improvement actions for network structure.
  • Accurately execute the preventive maintenance program and provide related reports.
  • Jointly conduct new site commissioning tests with equipment vendors; accept only links/sites meeting engineering standards and factory specifications.
  • Compile and submit maintenance reports; attend daily evaluation meetings.
  • Establish and document root cause of link failure by completing the Reason for Outage (RCA) form and producing evidence upon request.

  • Achieve performance KPIs.
  • Maintain network availability >99.60%.
  • Complete 80% of TTs within SLA.
  • Ensure network quality with packet loss <0.05%.
  • Achieve 90% of planned work on first attempt.

Qualifications – Academic and Professional

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication.
  • Lean Six Sigma – Yellow Belt.
  • CCNA Certification.
  • Valid Driving License.

Experience

2 years’ experience in transmission network maintenance.

  • Maintenance materials/spares/tools – ensure availability and proper use.
  • Preventive maintenance – plan and execute to minimize downtime.
  • Acquisition and utilization of recovered network components.

  • Decide on immediate corrective actions for network faults within scope.
  • Recommend network improvement proposals.
  • Recommend replacement or re‑use of recovered spares.

Operating Environment

Office and field‑based environment, with frequent travel to remote locations and multiple interfaces across units.
