Role Overview
Teach Mathematics and Physics through practical, enquiry-led lessons that meet Kenya’s curriculum requirements and help students build strong subject knowledge. You will plan and adapt learning with the Learning Design Team, track each student’s progress, and contribute to a structured, supportive school environment where high expectations and a genuine enthusiasm for learning go hand in hand.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics and Physics lessons that connect curriculum concepts to real-world contexts.
- Work with the Learning Design Team to develop, review and revise lesson materials as needed.
- Establish an orderly, age-appropriate classroom that supports focused learning and student participation.
- Set challenging academic goals, give timely and useful feedback, and take responsibility for students’ progress towards required standards.
- Adapt instruction and provide appropriate accommodations to support students’ academic development and meet school expectations.
- Use interactive technology to support teaching and learning, and record student outcome data accurately and promptly.
- Build professional, constructive relationships with students, families and colleagues, and communicate progress to families and other stakeholders when required.
- Model expected conduct, apply behaviour rewards and consequences consistently, and contribute to school-wide programmes, including duty, boarding duty and homeroom responsibilities when assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Current Teachers Service Commission (TSC) certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education (Science), with qualification to teach two subjects.
- At least a C+ in each teaching subject and a minimum KCSE grade of C+.
- At least three years of teaching experience in Mathematics and/or Physics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Adaptability in changing or ambiguous situations, with a proactive, thorough approach to solving problems.
- Willingness to engage with a feedback-rich culture, demonstrate mutual vulnerability and take on ambitious goals.
