Role Overview
Based in Kitengela, this teaching and leadership role combines classroom instruction in English and Literature or ICT with wider responsibility for supporting effective teaching practice. The postholder will help ensure learning is aligned with the Competency-Based Education (CBE) framework and current education policy, while drawing on prior experience in a school leadership position.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English and Literature or ICT, planning lessons that address learners’ needs and curriculum expectations.
- Use CBE principles to guide instruction, learning activities and assessment.
- Apply current education policies and TSC professional standards in day-to-day teaching practice.
- Use ICT tools to support classroom instruction and relevant administrative work.
- Contribute leadership experience to the coordination and improvement of teaching practice.
- Support consistent, professional delivery of learning across the assigned subject area.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education degree from a recognised institution.
- At least five years of teaching experience, including three or more years in a leadership role such as Head of Department, Senior Teacher or Deputy.
- Valid Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration and compliance with TSC professional standards.
- Strong understanding of Competency-Based Education and current education policies.
- Proficiency using ICT for instructional and administrative purposes.
- Ability to teach English and Literature or ICT.
