Role Overview
This position owns the global marketing agenda for clean-cooking products, shaping how households across emerging markets discover, trust, and regularly use cleaner cooking solutions. Day-to-day work blends high-level strategy with in-field execution: you will build brand narratives, design campaign playbooks, and partner with local marketing teams to drive equipment sales, recurring gas usage, and stronger engagement with entrepreneurs who sell cooking products. The outcomes directly affect both commercial performance and a broader mission of improving household health, cutting environmental damage, and expanding energy independence for millions of families.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and own the worldwide clean-cooking brand and marketing strategy, aligning it with revenue growth, profitability, and social impact targets.
- Design integrated campaigns that boost average revenue per user from initial purchase through ongoing gas refills, while increasing lifetime value for customers, entrepreneurs, and installation partners.
- Spend significant time in target markets to adapt global strategy into locally relevant execution plans, capturing regional cultural context, consumer behaviour, and distribution realities.
- Use customer data, surveys, and structured hypotheses to uncover commercial opportunities and translate them into clear go-to-market strategies for different regions and customer segments.
- Lead global product launches and multi-channel marketing campaigns across digital, retail, field teams, and partner networks, providing reusable toolkits that local teams can customise.
- Drive research on consumer perceptions, usage habits, adoption barriers, and competitive activity, then feed those insights into messaging, pricing, and channel decisions.
- Define and track KPIs for campaigns and launches, monitor performance against commercial goals, and regularly present learnings and optimisation recommendations to senior leadership.
- Collaborate closely with commercial, product, partnerships, and regional marketing teams to align everything from product development to sales enablement, including agent propositions and training materials.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 8–12 years of marketing experience, with at least 3–5 years in a global or regional role spanning multiple markets.
- Demonstrated background in consumer goods, energy access, LPG, or clean-cooking industries, with proven success launching products across diverse geographies.
- Strong blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution—able to set a vision and also build the plans, assets, and playbooks to make it real.
- Experience working effectively with cross-cultural, geographically distributed teams and localising global initiatives without losing consistency.
- Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to interrogate historical customer data, structure inputs, and turn findings into practical commercial recommendations.
- Familiarity with emerging or frontier markets, including behavioural-change marketing and affordability-driven value propositions.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred, though substantial practical experience will be considered.
