Role Overview
This role puts you on the ground in a defined territory, building a repeat customer base for Keep IT Cool's fresh fish, chicken, cold chain services, and cooling solutions. Your day-to-day focus is prospecting, visiting food businesses and community buyers, registering them on the Markiti platform, and turning one-off orders into long-term recurring revenue. The work directly supports the company's expansion strategy by opening new hubs and increasing market share in underserved areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and sign up new customers across restaurants, hotels, cafés, retailers, butcheries, institutions, SMEs, and residential communities through scheduled daily field visits.
- Register every new customer on the Markiti platform and keep their account information, order history, and contact details current.
- Sell the full range of Keep IT Cool products and services, including fresh fish, chicken, cold chain logistics, and cooling equipment, while working towards tightly defined revenue targets.
- Hit daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales quotas by increasing order frequency and average order value for both new and existing accounts.
- Carry out structured follow-up visits to existing customers to maintain relationships, resolve issues, and uncover upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
- Develop assigned territories by mapping untapped accounts, planning efficient travel routes, and expanding customer penetration ahead of new hub launches.
- Support trade marketing initiatives such as roadshows, product demonstrations, exhibitions, and community activations to boost brand visibility and generate leads.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, submit daily and weekly sales reports, and use sales data to adjust pitching strategies and prioritise high-potential accounts.
- Monitor competitor pricing, promotions, and product availability, and feed customer feedback back into the business to improve offerings.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of proven experience in field sales, business development, or direct customer-facing commercial roles.
- Experience in FMCG, food distribution, retail, or agribusiness is strongly preferred, as is familiarity with selling perishable goods.
- Working knowledge of CRM systems and basic reporting tools; candidates who have used mobile sales apps or order management platforms will stand out.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage both small shopkeepers and institutional procurement staff.
- Self-discipline and planning ability to manage a demanding field schedule, meet strict sales targets, and complete daily reporting without close supervision.
- A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable means of transport is typically required for field coverage, depending on territory size.
- Must be comfortable with frequent travel within an assigned region and working outside a traditional office environment.
