Role Overview
You will join our technical team as a hands-on technician, carrying out installation, scheduled maintenance, and repair work across our operational sites. In this role, your day-to-day focus is diagnosing faults quickly, restoring equipment to full working order, and preventing future breakdowns through careful preventive checks. Your ability to work accurately and safely directly minimises downtime, protects our team and customers, and keeps our facilities running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Install new equipment and systems according to technical specifications, ensuring everything is positioned, connected, and configured correctly.
- Carry out routine inspections and scheduled maintenance to identify wear, potential faults, or safety risks before they cause disruption.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults, using a structured approach and appropriate diagnostic tools to isolate the root cause and implement durable repairs.
- Perform component replacements, adjustments, and calibrations to restore equipment performance to optimal levels.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and the condition of equipment to support planning and future maintenance decisions.
- Liaise with other team members and supervisors to coordinate access to sites, communicate job status, and escalate unresolved technical issues.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and relevant regulations consistently, using personal protective equipment and safe work methods at all times.
- Keep tools, work vehicles, and storage areas clean, organised, and fully stocked with commonly needed spare parts.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A recognised certificate or diploma in a relevant technical trade or engineering discipline, such as electrical, mechanical, or a related installation and maintenance field.
- A minimum of three years of hands-on experience performing installation, maintenance, and repair work in a commercial, industrial, or residential setting.
- Strong practical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to methodically identify faults rather than relying on trial and error.
- Sound knowledge of installation techniques, preventive maintenance practices, and repair procedures for mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical equipment.
- A good working understanding of occupational health and safety requirements, including risk assessments, safe isolation, and workplace hazard management.
- A reliable, professional attitude with the discipline to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and complete jobs to a high standard.
- The ability to work effectively within a team, communicating clearly with colleagues, customers, and supervisors as needed.
