Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Educator to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where young children can learn and grow. This role focuses on enhancing early development, fostering a love for learning, and supporting each child's social and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities to support cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes exploration, creativity, and independence.
  • Provide a variety of learning experiences, including play-based activities, group discussions, and individualized instruction, to cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to promote open communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor and assess each child's progress, maintain accurate records, and provide regular feedback to parents.
  • Support children in developing essential skills such as language, communication, problem-solving, fine and gross motor skills, and social interactions.
  • Promote good behavior and discipline through positive reinforcement and age-appropriate classroom expectations.
  • Encourage independence and self-help skills, including toileting, dressing, and eating.
  • Plan and organize field trips, events, and special activities that enhance the curriculum and provide hands-on learning opportunities.
  • Stay updated on current early childhood education practices by attending professional development workshops, conferences, and continuing education courses.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Development (ECD) from a recognized institution.
  • At least two years of experience working with young children in a school setting.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • A caring, patient, and flexible attitude.
  • Be conversant with the new Competency Based Curriculum.
