DTS Technician

Role Overview

As a DTS Technician, you will be the on-the-ground technical owner of the Dealer Tinting System (DTS) equipment installed across dealer outlets, keeping every unit running accurately and reliably through hands-on installation, calibration, scheduled servicing and rapid fault recovery. Working from both dealer sites and the in-house workshop, you will act as the first point of technical contact for dealers and customers, resolving breakdowns inside agreed SLA windows and feeding clear, accurate service records back to the DTS Maintenance Manager. Your work directly protects dealer productivity — when a machine is down or mis-calibrated, tinting output, quality and customer confidence all suffer, so this role is central to keeping the network operating without avoidable downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, overhaul and carry out preventive maintenance on DTS machines at dealer outlets and at the in-house facility, following the approved maintenance schedule.
• Inspect machines regularly, run diagnostic checks and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and electronic faults through to root cause and permanent fix.
• Respond to reported breakdowns and restore machine operation within the SLA timelines agreed with the business.
• Calibrate DTS equipment so that tinting output consistently meets the required operating standards and quality tolerances.
• Action CRM complaints assigned by the DTS Maintenance Manager or Supervisor, updating job status and closing tickets once the issue is verified as resolved.
• Load current DTS pricing, software versions and other machine settings onto units whenever updates are released.
• Complete the physical checklist and visit report for every customer visit, obtain the customer's signature and stamp, and submit documentation in line with company reporting requirements.
• Identify damaged or worn components, raise spare part requisitions with the supervisor, and keep records of all parts and accessories consumed during maintenance work.
• Coach dealers and customers on correct machine operation and routine upkeep, and escalate significant or recurring technical problems to the supervisor.
• Liaise with the ICT department and other internal teams on technical accessories and software-related requirements, and follow all company safety policies while working on site or in the field.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
• 2–3 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing equipment or machinery, ideally within a related industry; exposure to servicing, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance schedules is a strong advantage.
• Solid working understanding of electrical, mechanical and electronic systems, with practical diagnostic and repair capability.
• Proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently at remote sites while still collaborating effectively with the wider maintenance team.
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills for dealing directly with dealers and customers, including explaining faults and basic maintenance steps in plain language.
• Strong planning, organisation and follow-up habits, with the composure to work under pressure and hit SLA deadlines.
• Basic computer literacy and confidence using mobile applications and CRM systems to log and close service activity.
• Willingness to travel regularly and work at different dealer and customer locations; a valid driving licence is an added advantage.
