Role Overview
Wireline Field Engineers provide technical direction for wireline logging and completions work across multiple customer projects. On location, they interpret logging data, resolve operational problems as they arise, and coordinate with rig and production teams so that customer objectives are met. The role also drives field-based improvements to products, processes, and procedures, making it central to reliable service delivery and ongoing technical learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead wireline logging and completions activities at the wellsite, supervising equipment and service delivery.
- Evaluate and resolve moderately complex wellsite problems by interpreting logging data, troubleshooting equipment or operational issues, and choosing appropriate actions.
- Coordinate with drilling crews, production facility personnel, and customer representatives to align wireline operations with rig activities and site schedules.
- Provide wellsite analysis and technical advice to the Customer Representative on logging and completions operations, including recommendations based on real-time data.
- Maintain complete documentation of all assemblies run and submit accurate records to the Customer Representative at the wellsite.
- Oversee and support the training of less experienced engineers and field personnel, sharing technical knowledge and job-site procedures.
- Identify and recommend improvements to products, processes, and procedures based on field observations and job outcomes.
- Carry out additional duties within the district and supervise equipment at both the wellsite and the shop to support specific logging and completions services.
Requirements & Qualifications
- University degree in Engineering or Applied Science.
- At least 5 years of experience in oilfield wireline operations and services.
- Thorough understanding and demonstrated competency in tubing conveyed perforating (TCP).
- Ability to match the correct product and service to simple through complex applications.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for wellsite interpretation of logging data.
- Effective communication and collaboration with internal teams and external customers.
- Availability to work at wellsite locations and handle additional district responsibilities as required.
