Role Overview
As a Direct Sales Representative, you will be the front line of growth for a banking client, spending your day in the market to bring in new customers and deepen relationships with existing ones. You will connect individuals and business owners with accounts, digital services, deposits, and loan solutions, helping the bank expand its customer base while meeting strict quality and compliance expectations. Success in this role directly affects revenue, customer loyalty, and the bank’s reputation in the communities it serves.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective retail and business customers through community networking, referrals, and targeted outreach.
- Guide new customers through account setup, ensuring applications and supporting documents are complete, accurate, and aligned with bank policies.
- Introduce existing and newly acquired customers to digital banking channels, helping them activate and confidently use available services.
- Sell deposit products and originate loans for individuals and businesses, meeting assigned volume and quality goals.
- Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for customers, resolving questions and recommending products that fit their financial needs.
- Strengthen customer loyalty through regular portfolio reviews, product education, and proactive follow-up.
- Gather customer feedback and escalate service or product gaps to the supervisor for improvement.
- Track sales activity and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the line manager, while carrying out additional related duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related discipline.
- Sales experience: Demonstrable track record in sales; direct selling, field sales, or relationship-based sales experience is an advantage.
- Communication: Strong verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial products clearly to diverse customers.
- Negotiation: Skilled at handling objections and closing agreements while maintaining customer trust.
- Networking: Confidence in building relationships across community and business settings, with good people management abilities.
- Problem-solving: Sound judgment and decision-making skills, including the ability to work independently in the field.
- Compliance knowledge: Working understanding of banking regulations, industry rules, and ethical sales practices.
- Drive and focus: Results-driven and customer-focused, with the discipline to manage time, meet targets, and maintain accurate records and reports.
