Role Overview
As a Direct Sales Representative (DSR), you will act as a frontline growth driver for a banking client, converting market opportunities into lasting customer relationships. Your daily work will involve meeting prospective and existing customers, opening accounts, introducing digital banking services, and matching deposit and lending solutions to individual and business needs. This role is essential because the bank’s expansion depends on consistent customer acquisition, deeper product adoption, and strong retention in a competitive market.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business prospects, turning leads and referrals into active bank customers.
- Open new customer accounts accurately and in line with the bank’s quality and compliance expectations.
- Introduce and cross-sell digital banking products to new and existing customers, helping them adopt and use these services confidently.
- Grow deposit balances by mobilizing funds from individuals and businesses, and help ensure loans are disbursed responsibly and meet quality standards.
- Engage customers with clear product explanations and responsive service, making it easy for them to understand and use the bank’s offerings.
- Strengthen customer loyalty by regularly sharing updates on the bank’s product portfolio, collecting feedback, and escalating service improvement ideas to your supervisor.
- Maintain a disciplined sales pipeline and submit daily, weekly, and monthly activity and performance reports to your line manager.
- Take on additional sales or customer-related tasks assigned by your supervisor as business needs arise.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in a sales role, with the ability to meet or exceed targets.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building trust with diverse customers.
- Effective negotiation abilities and the confidence to handle objections and close sales.
- Networking and people management skills to develop referral sources and maintain productive customer relationships.
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially when matching customers to suitable products or resolving service issues.
- Working knowledge of banking industry rules and regulations relevant to account opening, deposits, and lending.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and customer-focused, with the ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
