Role Overview
This direct sales role supports a banking client by growing its customer base and deepening existing relationships. Day to day, the representative prospects for new business, opens accounts, introduces customers to digital banking tools, and works toward deposit and loan targets across individual and business segments. The position matters because it connects the bank’s products to real customer needs, drives revenue through quality acquisitions, and helps retain clients through consistent service and follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Open new customer accounts accurately and efficiently, ensuring all required documents, disclosures, and verification steps meet bank standards.
- Onboard existing and new customers onto the bank’s digital channels, explaining features and helping them complete activation so they can transact confidently.
- Reach deposit mobilization goals and support loan growth by identifying eligible individual and business borrowers, assisting with applications, and helping ensure quality disbursement.
- Engage customers with clear information about available products and services, matching solutions to their financial situation and resolving routine questions.
- Improve retention by regularly updating customers on the bank’s product portfolio, checking in after sales, and gathering feedback that can be escalated for service improvements.
- Build a steady sales pipeline through prospecting, referrals, networking, and outreach to local businesses and community contacts.
- Track and report daily, weekly, and monthly sales activity, pipeline progress, and target performance to the supervisor.
- Carry out other sales, service, or administrative duties assigned by the line manager as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, marketing, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience in sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets; prior banking or financial services exposure is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain financial products clearly to diverse customers.
- Effective negotiation skills and confidence in closing sales conversations.
- Networking and people management abilities, with comfort building relationships across individual and business customer groups.
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills, plus the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of banking industry rules, regulations, and compliance expectations.
- Results-driven and customer-focused approach, with strong organization for managing leads, follow-ups, and reporting.
